Mystery solved

My stepson's whereabouts have come to light!  His girlfriend went to his flat last night to feed his animals, and found his phone there, so that explains why he wasn't answering it.

She managed to get hold of the solicitor at lunch time, and found out that my stepson was sent to prison yesterday for a two year sentence.  Why on earth the solicitor didn't let her know that yesterday, we don't know.  That was very frustrating and she said that he didn't seem very interested.  She is going to call the prison and find out what the visiting arrangements are.  We think he is in a local prison, so not far to travel, as long as they keep him there.

She understands that he may have to serve half of this sentence.  But she has a lot of things to sort out with the flat, and all his possessions may have to be moved out of the flat, as it is a housing association property and the rent will not get paid whilst he is in the prison.  I will help her as much as I can.

At least he is safe and on his way to serving what he has to do, thank goodness. Hopefully he will be home sooner rather than later. Kids all must find their own path and it sounds like he chose a harder one than most.

Pleased that he has been located and is safe - but sorry for all the hassle you are going through. You have shown graciousness and love in a difficult situation - and I believe your actions are those which FH would have taken too xx

I am so glad you have found out what was going on with your stepson, bad of the solicitor not to communicate what had happened.

Glad to hear he's safe, shame you and his girlfriend had to wait and worry.

Thanks for your comments. He is older than I am - nearly 50 - and so definitely old enough to know better. He has to get through this and come out the other side, and serve his time for the mistakes he has made. I feel for his girlfriend, and will do what I can for her, and I am sad that he has made some daft choices in his life, because it is hard for those around him to have to watch him. I hope that he will be ok in there - he'll read like crazy, chat with anyone who will listen, and share his stories. He'll probably get more rest than he has had in the last 10 years, and I hope he learns something from this all too!

What a worry for you all.
I do hope that things can settle down and you can find some peace and move forward now.
Perhaps time to think and reflect, will be a good thing for your stepson.
I am sure that his girlfriend will appreciate your love and support.
What a time of change for you, you are doing so well, very best wishes.
