Housing update

The phone call may or may not have had an impact this morning, but we did speak politely and firmly to a lady in the accommodation office, and by this evening, the EFG had an email saying that she can have a room on 12th September and if she wants to arrive before then, they will put her in temporary accommodation.  Phew!  The relief is amazing.  OK, there is a minor hiccup in that she will have to move from the temporary place to the permanent room, but that is minor compared with not having a room........we'll just have to pay for a taxi to move her if there is no help on that front from the uni.

Today we have been to Gressenhall Workhouse and Museum of Rural Life - and it was fantastic!  I have taken loads of pictures, but I am tired now and I'll share them tomorrow: I am just SO relieved about the EFG!!

Why ever didn't you say you were at Gressenhall - less than 15 minutes from a free cuppa here at Cornerstone!!
Glad that progress happening on accommodation front.
I had a similar bad experience back in 1973 - and it had all worked out brilliantly by the time started.

much love xx

Oh thank goodness! The Scottish results were out on the 5th August and I'm wondering if places in halls were given out to Scottish students then which wouldn't be fair if they had said they would guarantee up until later in August. I spoke to a friend who has a son at Aberdeen Uni and he has had problems with accommodation. And private rentals are very pricey.

@Ang - if I had realised you were still there, I would have done! It isn't always clear from your posts whether you are still at Cornerstones or whether you are talking about something you did whilst you are there, so I wondered whether you had gone back to Kirby again....sorry - I will pop in next time we are both in Norfolk! I'd love to see you again anyway....xxx
