Teds away!

Here they are!  The posse of teds who are off on a long journey from the Fens to Zimbabwe.

They left the Fens yesterday, en route to Hertforshire, from whence I am assured they are going to take a longer journey out to Africa.

One or two of them look a bit nervous, but I think that they are quite excited on the whole!

This is a project we found out about through Elaine at Mortgage Free In Three and the ladies at the Craft Club at the church have really come through and delivered these gorgeous teds.  There are one or two more to come, but these guys are on their way!

What a great bunch they are. I made a couple for Elaine's appeal too, plus pillowcase bags to put them in and I included a few odds and ends like pencils and undies. Unfortunately the postage was extortionate, so I only sent the one parcel. I hope all the teds enjoy life with their new owners.

Helen, I know just what you mean. I sent the 13 teds, 2 pencil cases, some jotters and it cost £13. Luckily, the craft club had had a £50 donation from a local doctor recently, so they were able to use some of that to send them off. If I had had time, I would have looked at using a courier service like I have used before to send other items, but I was a bit concerned about them having to sign for them the other end and maybe no one being available. I think the courier would have been a lot cheaper. The few I have left to send when they are sewn up I am hoping will fit into a large jiffy bag xx

Love the teddies, they will be well loved, I'm sure. Yes, postage is a problem, isn't it? Good job you had a donation to help with the cost. I made some teddies for the children's ward at our local hospital at the beginning of this year and am about to start on another brood when I finish the current work in progress. There's something so appealing about teddies!
