I do enjoy being given money, don't you! The bank have been kindly looking after some dosh for me, and have given me some interest for letting them use it this past year...well, I wouldn't have kept it under the bed in this day and age, so I'm glad to let someone else have the bother of the security and all that.
I wasn't up to speed on when the interest gets paid, so it was a lovely surprise to log on to the bank this morning and find myself a little richer - it's quite made my day, so far.
It's life.

A very nice surprise to wake up to!
Indeed, Laura - most welcome! I had been racking my brains to think of how to make more money between now and Christmas so that I could better meet my savings goals, and then I had a little windfall. It hasn't made much of a dent in the amount I need to save, but it all helps!
I love an unexpected little bit of interest.
My grandmother used to put all the money she saved on coupons (days before internet deals and bogofs) in a money box and cash it in for Christmas. Is this a valid way of saving for you?
To be honest, saving money is so hard these days, just breaking even is hard enough! WS xxx
