I splashed out on a mini bottle of wine for myself to celebrate my release from the phone job - I feel more in control now and less like I am tied down! I did the final hour this afternoon - and the very last call was to a whinger: he wouldn't go back to x dealership because of the terrible customer service, blah, blah, blah! Thank goodness I shan't be phoning him again.....
We have had an amazing day at the chapel - all the craft groups from across the circuit came together to share and do knitting, patchwork and cross stitch together for the day. We had a bring-and-share lunch, and there were 45 women there at one point [and one man, who did a lot of chattering and not a lot else]. The fellowship and creativity were great, and we are looking forward to doing it again at another chapel sometime after Easter. It was a lot of work on the tea-making front, but there was a good team to share the load.
Off to consider a bible-study for tomorrow afternoon now - hope you have a lovely weekend xx

That must be nice to leave that job behind and focus on those things closer to your heart. It is nearly a year now since my husband passed away and feeling a bit low, I took myself to a rocky cove with a flask of coffee and binoculars to watch seal pups learning to swim this morning. Just the thing. Sadly on the way home the clutch went on the car (expensive). I had planned to take one of my girls to a lecture about Everest by Chris Bonington tonight which was a shame to miss. But on the upside we have a weekend to relax and garden with no car to tempt us out! Have a nice weekend. X
Well done, so nice to see the end of the phone job & to have a job you really enjoy. Vee x
Glad you have been liberated! your craft group sounds great- wish I'd have been there too. Weekend blessings xx
Do you have plans for another job ? Or is it time for rest in God ? Whatever comes your way, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. God always takes care of us.
Hi Wendy - yes, I started a new job as Methodist Lay worker in our circuit on 1st September for 20 hours a week. I thought I could manage to do both, but although there ARE enough hours in the day, they all seem to need to be used at the same time - I needed to be working on the phone at the same time that I needed to be doing churchy things, so I had to finish the phone job. It is a blessed release as I was doing it to earn money, not because I had any passion for it....I am definitely enjoying the church job. Thanks xx
