Days like these

These are what we are striving for: sunny days, with plenty of time to do the things we want to enjoy, such as sitting in the sun by the back door with a cup of tea, picking raspberries straight from the garden and eating them, the FH pottering off to the lunch club with UJ, and then the YFG coming home from school and telling us about her day.  The EFG is at home and pootled off on the bike down the village this morning for a haircut, and then came with me this afternoon when I went to deliver the FH's car to the garage for the MOT which was going to be done last Tuesday and got postponed.  UJ followed us into town to bring us home - he is a really good support to me these days.

This used to be a bit of a moneysaving or frugal blog, recording our attempts to stay debt free and to get some coins in the coffers for potentially difficult times ahead - I haven't forgotten that those are my roots here, but I am working through some big changes in perspective at the moment, and hope you will stick with us here in the Fens whilst we come to terms with what's going on in our lives at the moment.  If you've stuck with us this long, I applaud you, and thank you for your kindness xx

Like good friendships, blogs often start up for one reason, then life takes over, and it becomes other things that bind us together.

Don't feel pressurized into regular blogging if you need to spend time with the nearest and dearest - we will all understand, and still keep you in our hearts xxx

PS hope MOT not too expensive

Don't worry about not talking about the frugal tips at the moment. Most of us know how to be frugal and you're probably doing things frugally without thinking about them as they just become habit after a while. You have bigger priorities at the moment and we drop in to find out how you are doing. Hopefully, being so frugal in the past has helped to make things a bit more comfortable for you all just now. You have a lovely family. Are the exams all finished now? My son has started his Higher courses. The children move up an academic year at the start of June here. Thinking of you x

No need to applaud us, we're all rooting for you. So glad you are all enjoying some family time. Take care, Vee xx
Ps Not sure if this is going to appear twice, I didn't see the usual comment about publication the first time I tried!

Am glad you are having such simple, enjoyable days together. Forget the frugal bits to your blog, sometimes you just need to do what has to be done, be it spending money or just unexpected extras that makes life easier for you all. I'm sure no one who reads your blog will complain!!! It is just lovely to know you are pootling gently along!! With love XX

@SusanM - yes, exams are finished for both the girls now. The EFG is at home, awaiting results, as many her age are, although I know that good many of her friends have jobs. The YFG has until the 23rd of July or thereabouts until she breaks up, but she is looking forward to two weeks of work experience in our optician's which starts on Monday. That means I have to take her each morning for 9am and pick her up again in the later afternoon. However, the experience will be very good for her. She will go back in Sept into our Y11 and it will be her GCSE exam year, so more stress!!
