Financial

Sometimes it seems that the world's conspiring against you, and it is very draining to see money spiraling away from the bank accounts in a seemingly never-ending flow.  I've had the chimney fixed and not had the bill, but I know that the hire of the cherry picker to do the job was about £180 before the chaps touched the chimney!  Then there is the car, and the hire car, and the parts I have ordered, and it seems that that situation may not be remedied straight away........

In times like these, I do something which seems to some to be very strange - I start giving things away. It's a trust issue. It says to me and to God that I trust He will continue to care for us, and that we will be OK. That this drain will stop and that actually, I have enough, and so I can spare resources for others.  I have just made a donation to the Salvation Army online, and I shall be making a donation to the local food bank today as well.  It makes me stop and think about my own feelings towards resources and having "enough" and just how blessed we are.

Trust was His word for me this year and that not only includes financial but health issues and educational needs too. I read somewhere that no matter where our money comes from be it welfare or working, all is His at the end of the day :-), it is the only area where the Lord has encouraged us to "test" his providence :-) Malachi 3 v 10

Thank you for sharing, witnessing and reminding me today x

I know what you mean. When my bank balance hit rock bottom, it's really strange, but I didn't care. All I had to concentrate on was not to let it go below the bottom line, not to go into the red. To do that meant a little bit of work to earn a few £'s, and to stop spending. At the back of my mind I thought, oh well, I haven't got much, but at least I have a roof over my head, even though it needs work doing to it, which I can't afford. As long as the four walls are still standing and the roof has not blown off, that will do for me.

Great post and I love Sandra Anne's wise comment. You know it will all work out, but it is the 4am moment when doubt creeps in! Blessings x

A very thought provoking post! Thank you for reminding us about trust and what having enough really means.

I love how you are giving out of a belief in abundance, and I think you will be blessed. Even before seeing the bill for the job you had done.

It's a good idea. While we are *selling* a lot of stuff to get out of a hole, over my whole week of holiday at Easter, I also plan to give away a lot of stuff, to leave the place clearer and more open for God to work.
Sometimes, you can't see the path for stuff. x
