It goes on and on!
There has been some tenderness around the main incision site near the YFG's tummy button, but the nurse practitioner at the surgery here thought we would have to "watch and wait" for a day or two. Unfortunately the pain got worse yesterday and last night, she saw a tiny ooze coming from it, so we went to the local minor injuries unit this morning to get it checked.
It looks like there is an abscess there now, and she has been prescribed antibiotics to clear it up. We have been advised to get it checked again in a couple of days to see how it is getting on. It doesn't look like she will be able to go to school for a few more days since the site is very painful, and she's not up to walking or carrying a lot at the moment. I shall email the teachers who sent her work last week and ask for more!

Sending big hugs and I hope YFG feels better. WS xxx
Oh poor love! Please try not to worry about school. My son missed 6 weeks of school last year in his big exam year and, although it was a worry about how much he was missing, he did really well. The internet is wonderful for keeping up with work, especially Bitesize. She will soon catch up when she's well again. The main thing is that she makes a full recovery. Take care x
Hope all goes well for YFG, it seems the days of convalescence have long gone & back to school comes round so quickly. Good wishes to you both, Vee x
Ahh, the poor thing. I hope it feels more comfortable soon. Hopefully the schoolwork will stop her from getting bored x
Oh dear! Sorry to hear of more problems for the YFG. Am not surprised though. No one ever seems to get out of hospital without more than they went in with these days! Don't start me on that one!!! Hopefully the Antibiotics will kick in soon. XX
Oh dear but at least it has been diagnosed and dealt with.
